Learn how to manage your profile, security settings, and account preferences.

Profile Information

Update your personal information from the Profile or Settings page:

  • Name: Your display name shown to other users
  • Email: Used for login and notifications (must be verified)
  • User Type: Customer or Photographer (set during registration)
  • Account Status: View your account standing and activity

💡 Tip: Keep your email up to date to receive important notifications about bids, messages, and payments.

Password & Security

Keep your account secure with strong password practices:

  • Change Password: Update your password from the Settings page
  • Strong Passwords: Use at least 8 characters with letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Forgot Password: Use the "Forgot Password" link on the login page to reset
  • Unique Password: Don't reuse passwords from other websites
  • Account Security: Never share your password with anyone

🔒 Security Tip: If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, change your password immediately and contact support.

Service Area (Photographers Only)

Photographers can configure their service area to filter relevant requests:

  • Base Location: Set your primary location on the map
  • Service Radius: Choose how far you're willing to travel (1-200 miles)
  • Auto-Filtering: Requests within your area appear on your dashboard
  • Flexible Radius: Adjust anytime based on your availability
  • Distance Display: See how far each request is from your base location

✅ Pro Tip: Start with a smaller radius and expand as you get comfortable. You can always browse "Global" requests outside your service area.

Notification Preferences

Control how and when you receive notifications:

  • Email Notifications: Receive updates via email for important events
  • In-App Notifications: See alerts in the notification bell icon
  • Notification Types:
    • New bids on your requests (customers)
    • Bid accepted/declined (photographers)
    • New messages from customers/photographers
    • Photo submitted for review (customers)
    • Photo approved and payment released (photographers)
    • New requests in your area (photographers)
Privacy & Data

Understand how your data is used and protected:

  • Anonymous Requests: Customers can post requests without revealing their identity
  • Data Protection: Your personal information is encrypted and secure
  • Payment Security: We use Square for PCI-compliant payment processing
  • Privacy Policy: Read our full privacy policy for details on data handling
  • Terms of Service: Review the terms you agreed to when creating your account
Communication Preferences

Manage how you communicate on the platform:

  • Messaging: All communication happens through our secure messaging system

Account Management

Additional account options:

  • Deactivate Account: Temporarily disable your account (contact support)
  • Delete Account: Permanently remove your account and data (contact support)
  • Export Data: Request a copy of your account data (contact support)
  • Support: Get help with account issues or questions

⚠️ Note: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Make sure to download any photos or data you want to keep before deleting your account.
